- Coordinates and monitors procedures on research using human subjects and animals;
- Monitors policies relating to research conduct and integrity;
- Supervises compliance with ethical regulations guiding research;
- Ensures that animal care facilities are maintained in compliance with policy regulations;
- Monitors and consults with relevant organs in charge of environmental health regulations relating to potential biological, chemical, radiation and recombinant DNA hazards;
- Provides administrative support for the relevant ethical review boards;
- Ensures monitoring and evaluation of research projects;
- Prepares and submits to the Director contributions to the University’s Research and Development Reports.
