• Coordinates and monitors procedures on research using human subjects and animals;
  • Monitors policies relating to research conduct and integrity;
  • Supervises compliance with ethical regulations guiding research;
  • Ensures that animal care facilities are maintained in compliance with policy regulations;
  • Monitors and consults with relevant organs in charge of environmental health regulations relating to potential biological, chemical, radiation and recombinant DNA hazards;
  • Provides administrative support for the relevant ethical review boards;
  • Ensures monitoring and evaluation of research projects;
  • Prepares and submits to the Director contributions to the University’s Research and Development Reports.
