Ensures that the legal interests of the University are adequately protected and safeguarded in all research contracts/MOUs;
Provides legal advice, opinion and guidance on matters pertaining to research contracts/MOUs; Federal laws, University policy and other relevant legal issues pertaining to intellectual property rights, copyrights, patents, trademarks, inventions and their commercialization;
Drafts, peruses, vets, finalizes and interprets legal documentation relating to research contracts\MOUs and legal support to the Ethical Research Review Committee (ERRC);
Prepares and submits to the Director, contributions to the University’s Research and Development Reports.
