PROJECT SUMMARY: This project is designed to provide rural farmers an affordable drip irrigation system using readily available, low-cost and serviceable materials. On-field demonstration of the system has shown the system as being efficient in the management of water which is a scarce resource in several parts of Nigeria especially during certain seasons of the year. It is believed the use of this system will provide farmers with higher farms returns, which in turn would translate to a positive shift towards attainment of food security and poverty reduction in the country.
